Sojourner

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18

I am a sojourner. We are all sojourners. Everything is transitory. Nothing visible in this life is permanent.

Time and again, I would gauge myself on these truths. And it frees me from the usual paralysis and dead beat monotony of the daily grind of life.

It’s always good to measure a momentary scathe in light of eternity.
In light of eternity, our disappointments, frustrations, sins, tears, problems do not measure up. Our problems are drowned in the course of our contemplation of the glory of the future. Because thinking about eternity infuses faith and hope in us. Thinking about eternity does not detach us from the reality of the present, but it makes us eager for the future and allows us to make every day count. Thinking about eternity makes us want to get up and throw off things that are soiled and face tomorrow with grit and passion.

So beloved, in light of eternity, understand that there is more reason to be hopeful than to be remorseful. Time will come when your tear ducts will stop working and would be deemed useless and no scientist can explain that to you.
