A Poem for Rianne

Thank the pooches for ganging up on me all night; I’m absolutely scooped off my mojo.

But thank God, after tight-bagging three poops, those energizer apsos finally retired for the night!

A Poem for Rianne

I thank God He gave me you.

Your presence in my life is like the harbor’s fleet, it makes children’s memory sweet.

I wish to tell you that you are not just a category, nor are you a cast in an allegory. You are the love of my life!

Have I ever told you that your smile radiates the warmth of a sun kissed ocean? And your beauty is a nostalgic breeze on a nimbus afternoon. My life with you has been like a warm soup on a terribly, rainy afternoon.

You brighten up my day and lighten up soul. Your love for God is seen and it drills a hole.

I love your authenticity and your selflessness. You deflect glory as if it’s a dowry.

I do not wish to play renegade eyeballs; I can be in for a stare if you may bear.

I never told you about the times I get up at night and watch you at your peaceful sleep. With tears in my eyes and grin on my face I go back to sleep.

I love it when at the middle of the night you wake up to the sound of fireworks nearby.

On nights like that for countless times we ended up becoming the ‘fireworks chasers’.

And oh, I’m sorry if I was too much of a slacker when at night you needed water and I continue to curl.

How I wish I was more heroic than Bucky O’ Hare!

I will always love holding your hand; see how we clip them like rattles in a toddler’s hand.

On this 3rd year of being with you, I just want to tell you that I love you.

We have thousands of days more of podcasting our way to sleep, bingeing through endless conversations.

I can do just about anything as long as I am with you, Mine. I love you.
